Perspective. It’s a funny thing. How we can
see the exact same thing in completely different ways. How what actually
happens doesn’t really mean anything, but our backgrounds, fears, values and
just all those random associations we have with things. It is no wonder why we
fail to understand each other as humans when every single one of us is speaking
our own unique language of emotions and reasonings. And we are never taught how
to either. As children the adults in our lives are often being great examples
of how not to understand each other. And at school we learn all kinds of
irrelevant details of so many subjects that we completely forget about after
finishing the school. Yet there is not a single lesson on how to simply live
life without drama, conflicts or just overall confusion. The most important
lesson, the life itself, we must figure out on our own.
Some of us never get through even the first
step of understanding that we have all the power over our lives. That we can
create our lives into whatever we want as long as we choose determination over
excuses and compassion over fear. Being able to see yourself from outside
point of view is a very useful skill, though hard to achieve. It is so easy to
always see the fault in others and ignore the pain and frustration caused by
our own issues, making our patience short and egos easily hurt.
And it gets even funnier when you feel all
those negative emotions about the things someone supposedly did to you and at
the same time deep down you know it’s not about them, it’s about you. It’s
about the little innocent child or animal inside you not being taken care of.
And it is our own responsibility to take care of it. Every single one of us is
worth it and owes it to ourselves. But we are never taught how to do it and no
one else can do it for us. So many of us end up neglecting those inner
children. Some of us succeed to take care of them, but for very few it is easy.
For most of us it is a long journey of trial and error. But the good thing
about all this is that it is never too late to start, it is never too late to
change how we see ourselves, others and the world around us and make the life
more pleasant for everyone.
